DPF - Diesel particulate filters - NORTHUMBERLAND
Diesel Particulate filters (DPF) catch bits of soot in the exhaust.
As with any filter (think of the bag in your vacuum cleaner) they have to be emptied regularly to maintain performance. For a DPF this process is called 'regeneration' – the collected soot is burnt off at high temperature to leave only a tiny ash residue.
However there are numerous reasons why your car will not be able to carry out a regen from a fault in the management system to driving style. We can carry out a static regen, this is where our diagnostic equipment takes control and forces the D.P.F to clean itself.
If a static regen can not be carried out safely then we have a system that we can use to physically clean out the D.P.F.
We can also carry out a full diagnostic check and carry out any repairs to the D'P'F system including filling of the Eloys fluid.
